Dear Cougars,
We're Sending a Message
To the Pac-10 we're sending a message that
we're serious about football.
To the students we're sending a message that they
attend a world-class University.
To the student-athletes we're sending a message that
their ears will ring with our cheers.
Cougar Students, Alumni, and Fans: "Team Built." These two words not only makeup the theme for our stadium-renovation project, they also literally describe how this vitally important endeavor will be achieved. By joining together, we can create an athletics venue that will benefit Washington State University football, all of WSU athletics, and the entire University for years to come.
In the early stages, we relied heavily on a team of experts — from the fields of architecture, construction, finance, banking, facilities management, and communications — to craft the strategic plan that has set the direction for this entire project. This team was expanded to include the students and ticket holders whose support made the first two phases of the stadium-renovation project possible.
Now we need to expand the team once again to include all students, alumni, and fans of WSU. This Cougar team will not be complete unless you are a part of it. Please consider this as our invitation for you to join the team. We hope this brochure will help you learn more about the renovation and the many benefits it will provide.
Your support of this project is critical and very much appreciated. On December 4, 2006, the long-awaited renovation of the football stadium began. This was the first renovation of the stadium in 27 years, and it would not have been possible without the support of WSU students, alumni, and fans. We are sincerely grateful.
For those who attended Cougar football games in 2008, you witnessed the benefits the initial phases of the renovation brought. You experienced a more fan-friendly game-day experience with easier access in and out of the stadium, more concession areas, and improved and expanded restroom facilities.
The next two phases of the project will provide the greatest impact on the future success of Cougar Athletics and WSU. Your support of the final phases of the renovation is vital. Phases III and IV of the renovation will further enhance the overall facility and increase the number of seats, including several types of premium seating. These improvements will enable more fans to enjoy Cougar football, assist in recruiting, and provide opportunities to increase operating funds for WSU Athletics, all of which will enhance the competitiveness of Cougar football and benefit all WSU student-athletes and sports programs.
These improvements will make the best game-day experience in the Pac-10 even better. Our goal is to elevate the game-day experience to match WSU's world-class reputation. We are now able to move forward with the sale of premium seating and expanded fundraising for the completion of the project. We will need help from you and every Cougar to generate the necessary funding for Phases III and IV.
This brochure includes details about the premium-seating options the renovated stadium will provide. Please take a moment to review this information. Your purchase of premium seating will support all Cougar athletic programs thanks to the additional funding it will generate for the WSU Athletic Department. We also ask you to consider making a donation to the renovation project. Your contribution will enable us to complete the stadium. Details of the various levels of support are contained in this brochure.
WSU's goals of providing a world-class education, conducting ground-breaking research, and acting as an academic and economic catalyst for the state, nation, and world are making a positive difference in the lives of all those we serve. A competitive athletics program will engage more of the Cougar family in support of the University and provide positive exposure for WSU. A renovated stadium will be a powerful vehicle to help make all of that happen.
Once again, we want to take this opportunity to thank all ticket holders, students, and donors for your tremendous support. The renovation would not be possible without you. Your generosity is truly making a difference for WSU now and into the future.
Thanks to your support, the stadium will be "Team Built." Go Cougs!
